Overview

The Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) – Law option, is a nationally-recognised qualification that serves as a benchmark for professional standards in the interpreting profession.

DPSI Online offers this exam fully online every month from February to November. 

The DPSI Law qualification is Ofqual regulated and the diploma awarded by iCQ is recognised by the NRPSI and PAIT.

Is this qualification internationally recognised?

The DPSI Law is a nationally recognised qualification because it focuses on the UK Criminal Justice and legal system. Please check with the relevant organisations abroad to see if they accept this diploma.

Do I need to complete a preparatory course before sitting the exam?

Many candidates sit the exam with little to no preparation, which accounts for the low pass rate for this qualification. Therefore, we recommend you attend a preparatory course before you attempt the exam.

Is the registration (certification) fee included in the exam price?

No, the registration fee of £185 is payable upon successfully passing all 5 units of the exam in order to claim your diploma.

How long do I have to complete the DPSI Law qualification?

Candidates sitting the DPSI Law exam through DPSI Online have up to 3 years from their registration date to complete all units and achieve the full qualification.

This period includes any resits or deferred exams. After 3 years, your registration will expire in line with the awarding body’s regulations, and you’ll need to re-register if you wish to continue.

What if I fail one or more of the units?

You have 3 years to retake and pass the failed units. Once you successfully pass all 5 units you will be asked to pay the £185 certification fee so that the awarding body issues your diploma.

Do you offer the option to bundle the course and exam together?

Yes, we offer a bundle that includes the DPSI Law course and the Exam (all units). Here you save £50 and have the option to spread the payments over 10 months.
