We were present at this APCI and NRPSI jointly-organised event on modern slavery and human trafficking awareness to mark the 25th anniversary of the inauguration of the National Register of Public Service Interpreters.
The speaker was Robyn Phillips, a modern slavery coordinator from Stop the Traffik, a global movement of communities and organisations fighting to prevent human trafficking, and the presentation reviewed the current relevant legislation and explained how victims can be identified. Attendees were also advised how to report any concerns that the interpreter may have in the course of their assignment regarding any trafficking or slavery suspicions.
We would like to urge all our current and past students to attend this workshop in the future, when available. To find out when it will run again, please follow the National Register’s CPD Events page.
