What is the DipTrans?

The DipTrans is a postgraduate-level professional qualification that is widely recognised as the international gold standard for anyone wanting to become a freelance translator.

Passing the exam and obtaining this diploma entitles you to improved work opportunities and the use of the DipTrans title after your name.

Do you offer the DipTrans Exam as well?

Yes. We now offer the DipTrans exam fully online four times a year, in January, April, July and October. Read more here.

Candidates who are planning to sit the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) DipTrans exams;

Are there any course requirements to join?

Native and near native levels in both working languages. Excellent writing skills in both working languages (source and target languages).

Ability and discipline for autonomous study, learning and research. Latest version of Skype for sessions with your tutor and reliable internet access.

Will I get a completion certificate?

Learners will receive a course completion certificate at the end of the course (mandatory completion of all assignments and attendance of at least 85% required). This certificate is not a qualification.

The diploma is awarded upon successfully passing all 3 units of the exam.
